  1. Dear Sajid,

First of all I would like to appreciate your effort in educating the people of Pakistan and the whole word in relation to different Oracle Applications. As a Pakistani myself, I feel great pride to know that users from all over the world visit your website and are able to learn a numerous amount of new things.

At the moment I am residing in the UK to complete my higher education. Alongside my education I am also working in an organization of no more than 80 employees, and we have our operations throughout UK and Ireland.

DUE TO CERTAIN SECURITY PROTOCOLS I AM UNABLE TO NAME THE ORGANIZATION.

All the work related to Human Resources and Administration is basically done on paper and it has been like this for the past 30 to 40 years. The company’s UK chapter is working in profit but overall the company operates in a loss and so there is no investment being made to automate and computerise all the functions of HR and Administration.

As a new employee in the company, I am totally frustrated by the excessive use of paper. I want the company to implement a proper HRMS system but the lack of funds and professionals have made the company to do everything manually from the very beginning. But this shall not stop me for doing whatever I can to automate the process and this is where I need your help.

For a start can you please give me information on the following things:

    1. Will I be able to automate most of our HR and Admin functions by using EBS and by following your tutorials on it?

    2. How useful is it in practical means, as I will have to manage around 80 employees?

    3. What software will I be required to purchase and are they available on the internet free of cost? (Can I download the legally from somewhere)

If you can give me your feedback on this then I would be truly grateful. My email address is given below and I hope to hear from you in due course.

    Sincerely,

    Mohammed Azhar

Oracle Payroll Costing Concept

To understand Payroll Costing concept, I would first discuss the Costing Allocation Key Flex field, during the business group definition it is being created and map with Cost Allocation KFF with following segments normally

• Company
• Cost Centre
• Natural Account

During the configuration of Cost Allocation KFF the most important concept is to set the Flex Field Qualifiers at each segment level, we have the five levels available for each segment i.e.

• Payroll
• Balancing
• Organization
• Element Link
• Assignment
• Element Entry

For the Company segment following setting can be applied

Payroll Checked
Balancing Checked

This setting will explain that the Company Account will be input at Payroll level (debit information) and balancing information will goes into credit information and on every segment level it is mandatory to define Balancing.

For the Cost Centre segment, I can set the following setting

Payroll Checked
Organization checked
Balancing checked

This setting will explain that the Cost Cent…
