  1. Dear Sajid,

First of all I would like to appreciate your effort in educating the people of Pakistan and the whole word in relation to different Oracle Applications. As a Pakistani myself, I feel great pride to know that users from all over the world visit your website and are able to learn a numerous amount of new things.

At the moment I am residing in the UK to complete my higher education. Alongside my education I am also working in an organization of no more than 80 employees, and we have our operations throughout UK and Ireland.

DUE TO CERTAIN SECURITY PROTOCOLS I AM UNABLE TO NAME THE ORGANIZATION.

All the work related to Human Resources and Administration is basically done on paper and it has been like this for the past 30 to 40 years. The company’s UK chapter is working in profit but overall the company operates in a loss and so there is no investment being made to automate and computerise all the functions of HR and Administration.

As a new employee in the company, I am totally frustrated by the excessive use of paper. I want the company to implement a proper HRMS system but the lack of funds and professionals have made the company to do everything manually from the very beginning. But this shall not stop me for doing whatever I can to automate the process and this is where I need your help.

For a start can you please give me information on the following things:

    1. Will I be able to automate most of our HR and Admin functions by using EBS and by following your tutorials on it?

    2. How useful is it in practical means, as I will have to manage around 80 employees?

    3. What software will I be required to purchase and are they available on the internet free of cost? (Can I download the legally from somewhere)

If you can give me your feedback on this then I would be truly grateful. My email address is given below and I hope to hear from you in due course.

    Sincerely,

    Mohammed Azhar

Oracle Time and Labour

OTL Processing, From Timecard to Batch Element for Payroll The purpose of this document is to provide users an overview of the OTL process flows and how the order of processing could impact payroll processing. This document highlights the tables that are impacted as time is entered in OTL and progressed to the batch element entry for payroll. This is a case history study that highlights issues uncovered due to incorrect process steps and two current bugs being worked on by Oracle Development. Issues highlighted in this document: 1. Overtime rules were not applied during the transfer of Retro batches (Transfer Time from OTL to BEE). In this issue any time interfaced to the professional timecard as ‘retro’ did not calculate overtime. Reference bug 3457385 where retro batches are not calculating overtime. Patch has just become available (April- 2004), depending on the HXT release you are on. Patch 3517194 for HXT.F, patch 3507727 for HXT.F.1 and patch 3385080 for HXT.G. 2. Time was double
